Based in Asia (India and Korea), and the United States, we provide companies complete, standards-based and custom RFID solutions to deliver a competitive edge to their businesses by enhancing operational efficiency and reducing costs.

We work with our customers across the entire value chain. We deliver Consulting Services at the Executive and other levels, Solutions and Application development of RFID Hardware and Software, and Distribution of select products.

Since RFID is not plug-n-play, we leverage our deep expertise in RF to help remove the complexities of RF and RFID deployments to deliver reliable solutions. We deploy and maintain complex solutions for customers with complex requirements to maximize the benefits of their investment

Our solutions cover a wide range of applications ranging from access control and baggage identification to animal and document tracking. We also address a wide array of industries including manufacturing, retail and service sectors, spanning infrastructure, FMCG, human resources, agriculture and defense. We also specialize in delivering solutions to the government sector.

Founder

Founder and CEO - Bimal Sareen

AVAANA™ is founded by its CEO Bimal Sareen. Bimal has been an accomplished international business and technology consultant advising leading companies on their Business Process Outsourcing and India-Asia business strategies.

Prior to founding AVAANA™, Bimal was the Managing Director, CEO and a member of the Board of Media Lab Asia, a former Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and GOI venture in India. In that capacity he worked with international leaders who were members of the Board as well, including Nicholas Negroponte (Chairman, MIT Media Labs, USA), Jose Maria Figueres (former President of Costa Rica & MD World Economic Forum, Geneva), the Honorable Minister of IT & Telecommunications, GOI, Narayana Murthy (Chairman, Infosys) and others. He was also an active member of the United Nations Information & Communications Technologies Task Force set up by Kofi Annan.

Bimal has been invited to speak at many international business and policy forums. He has given a talk on RFID at the IDTechEx business conference in Boston and at the United Nations in New York on (WiFi) Wireless Technologies. He also presented a paper on Technologies for the Developing World that he co-authored, at the annual World Bank Forum in Germany.

Previously as a senior executive at Compaq Computer Corporation, and Digital Equipment Corporation USA, Bimal has held positions where he was responsible for Venture Capital and Mergers & Acquisitions for Asia-Pacific & Greater China; as well as the Media Business P&L & Worldwide Business Development..

He was granted a US Patent (# 5,265,229) in the field of High Speed Computer design, and is listed as a co-inventor in 3 patents filed in March 2003 in the field of Passive Wireless Power.

Bimal is a Charter member of TiE (The Indus Entrepreneurs). He has been the President of the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce (NIC) in New Delhi (2001-2002). He is presently a member of the Core IT Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce (India) and a member of the Managing Committee of the PHD Chamber of Commerce (India). Prior to moving to India in 1997, he was an active member of the Massachusetts Telecommunications Council, USA (MTC) and a Member of the Board of the Massachusetts Interactive Media Council, USA (MIMC).
